Specialised Consultancy Launched For Truck Fleet Operators

Truck tyre maintenance specialist Bear’s Tyres has launched what is arguably Australia’s first independent ‘specialised tyre maintenance consultancy’ for truck fleet operators.

Managing Director of the company, Mr Brad Bearman, is personally heading this new service which will see him travel to the premises of any medium/large fleets to make a thorough analysis of the pros and cons of its existing setup.

Mr Bearman, who co-developed the world first Bear’s Tyre Tracker, says the birth of an on-site service to view, analyse and instruct a way forward for fleet operators concerned about their growing expenditure on tyres is a natural expansion considering cost pressures hitting the road transport sector.

“This new consulting service is very much a diagnostic service set up to help operators identify at an early stage any potentially costly operating errors to avoid costly blowouts further down the track,” said Mr Bearman.

“It is a go-to-wo approach where we visit the site, analyse the current setup, make an informed assessment and suggest a ‘whole of maintenance plan’ and ongoing training to bring down the operating costs and then keep them there.”

Bear’s Tyres has been a growing force as an independent voice – an optional voice amid brand tyre dealerships on the optimised selection, use and maintenance of tyres.

In 2010, the company gained international headlines when announcing the market launch of Bear’s Tyre Tracker – the only software-based product in the world that captures tyre operating data for lifecycle maintenance management.

With the Tracker, it brings attention to the operator all the functional matters that help increase longevity of each tyre over an extended time.

Therefore, management gains a new operating diligence, a better working relationship with its own staff, better knowledge on its suppliers and their products, and learns how to mix all this knowledge in the right way to maximise profits and returns.

“Fleet operators have pretty much relied on tyre dealerships to provide a general consultancy role, but that is difficult for the dealership reps because they have their vested interests to consider,” said Mr Bearman.

“We are independent, so there is no alignment contractually to any brand and we are able to make a very non-biased analysis of a fleet’s tyre management status and provide all the necessary guidance and training to turn even the most costly and wasteful tyre management operations right around into a very lean operation.”
