Bear’s Tyres  is a finalist at the prestigious Mercury Awards organised for the transport and logistics industry.

Mr Brad Bearman, the Managing Director of Bear’s Tyres says it is more than just personal recognition in making it as a finalist in the prestigious Mercury Awards for the transport and logistics sector.

Heading a company that has been educating transporters on the under-utilisation and general waste of tyres, Mr Bearman believes the company’s inclusion in the shortlist of finalists for the ‘Best Green Initiative’ award category is a turning point for a country where tyres are retired way too early and are also found in massive illegal dump piles.

He adds that the nomination is recognition of the fact that managers of Australian businesses that operate trucks, buses and general haulage vehicles have realised tyres are recyclable assets rather than a dead-end costly consumable.

Mr Bearman also comments that the award nomination also acknowledges the hard work invested by the company in addition to their drive being recognised by heavyweight industry experts that formed the judging panel.

Other companies to be recognised for their ongoing achievements included global names such as Coca Cola Amatil, Schenker Australia and Barker Transport.

Bear’s Tyre Tracker made the cut for the final four in the ‘Best Green Initiative’ category for developing a software product, which manages the entire lifecycle of every single tyre on a fleet.

The tyre lifecycle tracker software product is superior to the conventional cpk software platform that only counts the distance a tyre has travelled, ultimately favouring tyre dealerships through revenue streams.

Being a finalist at the Mercury Awards in an environmental category is a recognition of Bear’s Tyre Tracker by a third party of its key unique competitive advantage, that of handing control of tyre assets into the hands of business owners or their management teams.

Bear’s Tyre Tracker software offers advantages such as:

  • Enhance the lifespan of all tyres
  • Increase safety levels for drivers
  • Eliminate the wastage that often occurs with the cpk system
  • Deliver accurate cost breakdowns for each tyre
  • Turn tyres into a quantifiable profit generator
  • Create a modern business loop that discourages illegal dumping of tyres and encourages tyre recycling
  • Fewer blowouts due to regular maintenance
  • Lower expenditure on new tyres
  • Smarter rotations
  • Complete fiscal transparency over tyre assets

Bear’s Tyre Tracker is a simple-to-use system that logs distances and advises rotations as well as retreading at optimised moments in each tyre’s lifespan. The tyre tracking software has been developed in-house by the brand-neutral company for national use.

Bear’s Tyre Tracker maximises the lifecycle of every single tyre. For instance, where dealerships have been responsible for maintenance, any single tyre may have been retired at about 38,000km whereas the tyre tracker can make it last to 55,000km or more.
