Bear’s Tyres releases software-based system to increase the lifespan of truck tyres by as much as 50 percent

April 20, 2010

An independent tyre specialist is turning to software to help fleet managers increase the lifespan of tyres in their fleet.

Bear’s Tyres’ computer-based tyre tracker logs distances and advises managers when tyres should be rotated or retreaded.

Bears developed the system in-house to be used nationally, and the company says it delivers accurate cost breakdowns for each tyre.

Brad Bearman from Bear’s says the tracker can increase a tyre’s life between 25 to 50 percent, potentially saving operators thousands of dollars each year.

“When we use the Bear’s Tyre Tracker we find that we can actually gauge the cost per kilometer of each individual truck tyre on every single vehicle a company runs,” Brad Bearman from Bear’s says.

“It’s not the cost of the tyres, it’s what you can get out of them that really matters.”
